Jenn Albreicht Sermonia, Trigg Mark Valdez, and John Xavier Salinel of Diliman Preparatory School qualified, and will be competing in the NCR Palaro 2019 after winning 3 golds, 1 silver, and another silver medal respectively in the AAPS Swim Meet held last October 21, 2018 at the Amoranto Sports Complex.
The NCR Palaro is a multi-sport event held annually, with student-athletes from Metro Manila competing for the gold. The event has become Metro Manila’s platform to promote the importance of Physical Education and sports for the holistic development and moral formation of the youth. This 2019, the NCR Palaro will be held at the Marikina Sports Center, hosted by Marikina City.
Sermonia, Valdez, and Salinel have also won multiple medals in various swim meets, such as the Philippine Swimming League, and the Nikki Coseteng Swimming Cup.
Students of Diliman Preparatory School such as Sermonia, Valdez, and Salinel have always been supported and encouraged to pursue their passion in sports. The school has always highlighted the importance of sports in developing the students holistically, without sacrificing their performance in academics, which is in-line with the DepEd’s vision for the Palarong Pambansa.
